Bishop Richard visits Riseley

Bishop Richard visits Riseley

On Wednesday 7th October, Riseley was visited by Bishop Richard, the Bishop of Bedford. Bishop Richard is heavily involved in supporting Church of England schools and requested the opportunity to visit the school, meet the staff and children and discuss our progress since his previous visit in 2021.

Following his visit he sent me the following message:

Thank you to you, your colleagues and all the children in the school for making me so welcome yesterday. It was a great joy to join you, to lead collective worship, to tour the school and meet children and staff, along with Sam from the governors. Please pass on my thanks to everyone.

In particular, please thank the children for their wonderful questions. It was really good to meet each of them and to talk with them.

It was also very encouraging to hear and see how the school has moved on and is moving on. That is a credit to your leadership and to that of your colleagues. My prayers are with you as you continue to take the school forward so that indeed the good seed may flourish.

Thanks again and with best wishes.

It is lovely to see all the hard work and progress over the past five years being recognised by someone who spends a lot of his time visiting other Church of England schools and he was clearly impressed by what he saw and heard from the chidlren and adults at Riseley.
