At Riseley C of E Primary School we offer a curriculum which is designed to support all of our children to grow in confidence, challenge themselves and inspire them to continue 'Learning for Life'.
As an inclusive school, all of our children access the full curriculum, have the opportunity to attend school trips and take part in enrichment activities both within and outside of the curriculum. We aim to provide all children with the tools to be successful in life, both academically and also personally.
Supporting children's social and emotional development is very important indeed and having happy, resilient children means they are well placed to tackle challenges with a postive attitude. We aim for our children to be motivated to try new things and learn new skills.
The curriculum at Riseley takes a light touch creative curriculum, topic approach in Year R to Year 4 and then becomes more focused on discrete subjects as children enter Year 5 and Year 6. This strategy is currently under review, as we would like to further embed the creative, topic led curriculum into Upper Key Stage 2 to provide more opportunities for deepening learning and enriching the curriculum offer.
As this review progresses, information will be updated to share how we are altering the curriculum to meet the specific needs of children who attend Riseley C of E Primary School.
